Amaranth colour powder is a red colour with a purple hue to it. Great when used in bath bombs and bath salts with no staining or residue being completely water soluble. If using in conjunction with fats, butters or oils an emulsifier like polysorbate 80 may be required. Please test in your application.
Amaranth is a dark red to dark purple powder. Almost no odor. Tastes salty. pH (1% solution in water) approximately 10.8. Used to dye wool and silk bright bluish-red from an acid bath.

Amaranth can be found as a food colouring in alcoholic beverages, red soft drinks, cake mixes, ice cream, jams, jellies, and many other processed foods. Amaranth dye is also used in France and Italy in the production of caviar. Not to be used for hair dyeing.
