Descriptions
Calcium stearate is a versatile fatty acid salt. It is mainly made from palm oil-based stearic acid and calcium salts. This compound is widely used in many industries. It acts as a stabilizer, lubricant, dispersant, and release agent. Calcium stearate helps improve product quality and processing efficiency. It is a white powder that is safe to handle. It does not dissolve in water or ethanol. However, it does dissolve in hot organic solvents and acids.

Applications
· Halogen Absorber Agent in Petrochemicals
Calcium stearate is also very important for chlorination processes of polyethylene and polypropylene in the petrochemical sector. By absorbing halogens, it guarantees effective polymerization and enhances the product's characteristics.
· Lubricant and Mold-Release Agent for Resin Compounds
With calcium stearate, the production efficiency is greatly improving as it acts as a lubricant and mold release agent in unsaturated polyester resin molding compounds.
Stabilizer for PVC Products
Calcium stearate in combination with other neutral salts has in addition stabilizing properties in PVC plasticizers since it inhibits degradation of products during processing and increases life expectancy of end products such as pipes, films and sheets.
Dispersing Agent and Lubricant for Color Masterbatches
· Adhesion Preventive in Rubber Products
Calcium stearate is also used widely in rubber industry. For example, as an adhesion preventives for rubber soles to prevent, or 'block', layers of soles from sticking together to facilitate ease of handling and better quality of the product.
· Waterproofing Agent for Textiles
In textile applications, calcium stearate acts as a water-proofing agent, providing durable water repellency to fabrics without affecting their breathability or texture.
