Application:

Yttrium oxide is primarily used in the manufacture of microwave magnetic materials and important military materials (single crystals; composite oxides such as yttrium iron garnet and yttrium aluminum garnet). It is also used as an additive in optical glass and ceramics, high-brightness phosphors for large-screen televisions, and coatings for cathode ray tubes. It is also used in the manufacture of thin-film capacitors and specialty refractory materials, as well as magnetic bubble materials for high-pressure mercury lamps, lasers, and storage devices. The addition of yttrium oxide during sintering effectively reduces the grain size of tungsten alloys. It is also used in the manufacture of light sources for infrared spectrometers, mantles for acetylene lamps and gas lamps, phosphors for color television tubes, stabilizers for zirconium oxide refractory materials, phosphors, synthetic gemstone laser crystals, superconducting materials, and many other cutting-edge applications in the electronics industry.
