Dipropylene glycol methyl ether is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C7H16O3. Colorless viscous liquid with pleasant odor. Miscible with water and various organic solvents. It is prepared by hydration of 1,2-epoxy propylene to dipropylene glycol, and then with methanol. Mainly used as a solvent for paints and dyes, and a component of brake fluid.
