Property: It is a kind of white briquettes with heavy irritant oder. Sp. gr. (solid) 1.48, m. p, 52.8°C,

b.p200°C (760mmHg), also readily sublimates. soluble in water, forming maleic acid.

Used mainly for synthesizing unsaturated polyester resins, coatings, pharmaceutics, pesticides,

lubricating oil additives, foodstuff additives etc.
At room temperature, it is a white flaky crystal with irritant odour and sour, inflammable and sublimating.

It can be freely dissolved in water to form maleic acid. It has a specific density of 1.480, a melting point

of 52.85 °C, and a boiling point of 202°C.

Storage
Stored in a cool, dry and fluent air place. Handling with care and gently, preventing from rain. Storage life

is one year from date of production. Keep away from fire and heat. Keep the container sealed. It should be

stored separately from oxidants, reducing agents, acids, and food chemicals. Avoid mixing. Equipped with

the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. The storage area should be equipped with suitable

materials to contain spills.

Usage

1.In plastics industry , it is used to make plasticizers.

2.In paper industry ,it is used in the manufacture of paper treating agents.

3.In synthetic resin industry, it is used for the manufacture of unsaturated polyester resin, alkyd resin and so on.

4.In coating industry, it is used to manufacture insulating paint, white enamel, baking paint, varnish and so on.
5.In pesticide industry,it is used to produce marathon pesticides and low-toxicity pesticides.

6.In organic industry ,it is used to produce fumaric acid, In analytical chemistry ,used as a chemical reagent.

7.In grease industry,it is used as a preservative for fats and oils.

8.In metal beneficiation ,used as collecting agent.
