Vat Red Dyes
Reducing dyes are used to dye cellulose fibers after being reduced in alkaline conditions, and then oxidized to become insoluble dyes on the fibers. The insoluble reducing dyes are made into sodium sulfate to become soluble reducing dyes, which are mainly used for cotton printing.
The vat dyes are insoluble in water. When dyeing, the fibers can only be dyed by reducing and dissolving them into cryptochrome sodium salt in alkaline strong VAT solution. After oxidation, the vat dyes can be restored to insoluble dye lake and fixed on the fibers. Generally, they have high washing and sun fastness. For example, Shilin blue, etc. It is mainly used for dyeing of cotton / polyester / cotton blended fabrics; vinylon can also be colored; in the silk industry, it is used for silk / rayon interweaving and discharge printing of real silk.
