Performance Characteristics
1. 5040 Dispersant is an anionic surfactant with excellent wetting and dispersing properties.
2. 5040 Dispersant has low foaming properties, improving the fluidity of coatings and stabilizing slurry viscosity.
3. 5040 Dispersant is an efficient and low-cost pigment and filler dispersant, providing excellent dispersion and stabilization of pigments and fillers used in water-based coatings.
Applications
It is primarily used in coatings for coated paper and water-soluble coatings, and is used to disperse inorganic pigments and fillers such as clay, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide/titanium dioxide, and talc.
It can also be used in water-based adhesives.
Dosage
This active ingredient should be tested at 0.5% to 1.0% by weight of the total pigment and filler weight. Determining the appropriate dosage in the finished paint formulation is crucial. If the dispersant dosage is significantly insufficient, complete dispersion will be incomplete. However, sufficient grinding and pigment dispersion may not necessarily be sufficient to achieve good film gloss, hiding power, and stability. However, excessive amounts of dispersant may increase the water sensitivity of the dried paint film.
